PPG ZOOM MEETING MONDAY 16TH NOVEMBER 2020

John welcomed everyone
- Election of Chair – in his absence, there was a unanimous proposal of Pat Sherry – Maureen to contact for his decision.
- Election of Secretary – initially no volunteers – new member Pauline Hebden was asked to take over – it was agreed that with assistance from Maureen she would take over in 6 months.
- Constitution - No suggestions for changes was forthcoming so present constitution stands for next 3 years to be reviewed in 2023,
- Pandemic effect on surgery and general update – Jill reported that 3 teams of admin staff in bubbles had been formed. Working longer days – 12 hours over two and half days. Some staff had the caught the virus, so surgery was short of staff in isolation. There is one bubble working at Queensbury but purely for admin purposes – surgery isn’t open - with all patients still referred to Wibsey surgery. Elderly and vulnerable patients have been contacted either by phone or house calls to check all is well.COVID-19 vaccinations – logistics re patients to be resolved – possibly invitations as per flu – due to temperature of vaccine storage CQC have yet to arrange suitable venues.A discussion followed on the feasibility of the problems the surgery faces. The surgery has been on a steep learning curve and problems have proved a logistical nightmare. There are between 450 to 500 telephone calls each day, with usual services carrying on. Two new apprentice members appointed – Millie and Charlie – they are learning about admin, customer services, answering phones, prescriptions – they are working closely with Amy. Adverts out for a replacement practice nurse to replace Emily and an advanced practitioner to carry out work like Imran. There are also two new pharmacists working remotely.

The next meeting, probably a Zoom, will be arranged for January when new chair is in post.
