Appointments - Updated 18th July 2022
Please do not visit the practice unless you have been asked to do so. If you are asked to attend the practice, please wear a face covering and follow the instructions provided.
We know that the majority of appointment request can now be dealt with over the telephone or a video consultation. We operate a telephone 'triage' appointment system. This is how it works:
'if you have a medical problem and it is urgent (that is a problem that will not wait until the next day), please call us from 8am Monday to Friday.
Our Patient Service Advisors will take your name a telephone number and you will be contacted via the relevant clinician appropriate for your needs usually the same day. The clinician or patient service advisor who calls you back will advise if you need to be seen the same day or book you for an appointment at a later date.
You may request to see a GP/ ANP of your choice, but at busy times and holiday periods it may not always be possible. Every clinician who see's you, has access to and can update your records accordingly. Please note it is not always possible to book with a clinician of your choice.
At times our Phone lines can be busy so we please ask that if it is not urgent please can you call back after 3pm. We will answer your call as soon as possible.
Why does the receptionist need to ask what's wrong with me?
Our reception staff are important members of the practice team, and it has been agreed they should ask patients 'why the need to be seen.'
we have trained our reception staff to ask certain questions to help us make sure you receive:
* the most appropriate medical care,
* from the most appropriate health professional,
* at the most appropriate time.
Reception staff, like all members of our team, are bound by patient confidentiality.
